- Intro
History tells us of heroes, glorified in battle and bloodshed, triumphing over adversaries of enormous power. Those great few rose from the masses in times of need to become more than mortal, their legends living indefinitely through tales of their deeds. The lands of Azeroth are once again enveloped in an epic struggle, and the world is in need of heroes to rally behind in the coming conflict. An ancient prophecy, one which has remained untold for millenia, has revealed itself to the united forces of The Horde. This prophecy forsees the rising again of a great few to battle the unseen evils of Azeroth and the forces of the Alliance. The Untold Prophecy has begun...are you ready to sieze your destiny and become a legend?
- Goals
Untold Prophecy is an Eastern Time Zone (EST) raiding guild. Our main goal is to be a very solid raiding entity on Zul'jin while maintaining a guild atmosphere of fun, friendship, and moral integrity. Untold Prophecy is a unique guild; we want to stay relatively small in numbers while keeping a good balanced of classes and numbers for the 25 man raid limit.
- Guild Structure
Untold Prophecy is led by various tiers of leadership. The guild leaders are War Council and are the final word in decisions made by the Officership, and make their decisions based on input from both other Class Reps as well as the membership. Class Reps exist to assist the War Council on deicision pertaining to guild recruitment and raid logistics.
- Rules of Conduct
1) Treat guild members with respect at all times. This means respecting their opinions, even when you don’t agree. Understand that there are real people behind the characters, and that everyone has their own dreams, ideas, goals, fears and problems.
2) Follow all rules and conditions of the ToA. Failure to do so may be grounds for dismissal.
3) Members must act in an adult, professional manner at all times. The real life age of all members is to be 18 years of age or older. Disagreements and problems are a fact of life, but it is up to every member to deal with them in a professional manner, to work to find solutions or to agree to disagree. Personal attacks in guild or other channels will not be tolerated.
4) WoW is a game, thus jokes, friendly banter and smart remarks are part of playing the game. It makes playing more fun, can break the tension if something unexpected happens, boosts moral and make friendships. However, this should never be done at the expense of others.
5) Members are free to leave the guild at any time. If a member leaves on 'good terms' for real life issues etc. and wishes to return to Untold Prophecy in the future they will need to reapply to the guild, but may be given priority depending on thier history in Untold Prophecy. Being removed from the guild for any reason is not considered 'leaving on good terms.'
6) Disbanding from the guild as a form of protest is not acceptable. If a member leaves in this fashion it is not be considered “leaving on good terms” and the member will have to come to a solution with the guild leader, officers and membership of the guild before being allowed to return.
7) Members should not have other characters in competing guilds (any guild, or coalition of guilds including Public Raids). The leadership of the guild will decide what is a competing guild. This is to remove any chance of a conflict of interest among guild memberships.
8) Members are to avoid any verbal fights in public channels (general, shout, auction, say), tells, public forums, or other channels with other people or guilds in the game. Problems with other guilds or individuals outside of the guild should be brought to the attention of an Officer. At that point the contacted Officer can attempt to deal with the person(s) via tells to correct the problem. Guilds, like individuals, have reputations, and public fights do nothing but hurt everyone involved.
9) Guild chat or other official channels are not forums to vent personal attacks or complaints. While constructive comments and criticism are always important, and welcome, more serious problems should be dealt with in a private setting. Members should use tells or a private channel made for the purpose of finding solutions or compromises in these cases.
10) Members may not participate in Pickup Group or other Guild's raids for current UP targets. It should be clear why this is not a good idea. Doing so could also create problems and/or go against UPs reputation. Please keep in mind as well that you are not permitted to share Untold Prophecy's strategies with any guild or person regardless of whether you are attending their raid or not.
11) Membership in the guild is on the basis that you understand and agree to follow all rules, procedures and practices.
- Raiding
Guilds exist for the purpose of a combining a group of individuals to act towards a common goal. Raiding is a major focus of the guild and of WoW itself. Much of the content of WoW requires a group of well-coordinated, well-equipped individuals all working together as a team to be able to accomplish goals.
The guild will have several planned raid times and days. It is up to the member to know what these times and days are; they will be posted on the forum. For the most part these times and days will repeat each week. All members are expected to make a best effort to attend most of the scheduled raids.
The guild will have "official" raids each week. Attendance to these raids is mandatory if you are online. We understand that even if you are online there may be something that prevents you from attending. Therefore, if there is a VALID reason you cannot attend and you are online, discuss it with an officer.
Untold Prophecy works on an RAP(Raid Attendance Point) system when distributing loot. Every raid you attend will earn you points based on the target, progress, and time spent during that raid. Each item is given a value of RAP after discussion by the guild leadership. If you have the highest RAP value of those sending in for loot you will be awarded the item, and the RAP value of the item will be deducted from your total RAP amount. Officers reserve the right to override RAP loot distribution in a "for the good of the guild" decision, although this occurence has rarely happened in the past and foreseeably will rarely happen in the future.
You are required to have downloaded and correctly installed the latest oRA2 and Omen AddOns as well as the Ventrilo program to raid with Untold Prophecy.
- Recruitment Information
First and foremost UP is meant to be a relatively small guild of 35 to 40 very active members if at all possible. We are looking for people that are likely to be perfect fits based on how UP works, and as such we can't take everyone that wants in and need to closely check our class balance.
We are always on the lookout for active raiding new members. The recruiting process varies depending on the guild needs at the time; please feel free ask an officer about our current recruiting aim. The guild recruitment may be closed for a period of time for certain classes if it is evaluated that we have more than adequate numbers of said class on attendance to the raids. Normally this information can be found in the "application form" on our public forum. Although recruitment may be closed we encourage you to still fill out and submit and application so that if a spot does open in the future we can contact you. Please make your application look and sound professional, and complete the form in its totality before submitting.
- Recruiting Policy
Recruit; all new members will have to go through a 4-week "test" period. To become an effective guild member here are the requirements that must be meant :
- Register on the forums
- Being level 70
- Attend / be able to hold around 80% attendance
- Respect your guild mates and follow UP's rules.
- UP is an EST time zone raiding guild and new members should be able to raid during our scheduled times.
- Available to raid from 7pm EST to 11pm EST and from time to time exceed up to midnight.
- Raid days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday
At the end of the test period, the Council will cast a vote on promoting the recruit to official membership or asking the player to leave.
During your application period you are also required to read in its entirety the Official Rules/Regulations Document of Untold Prophecy.
This is a social game and for this purpose, UP will always evolve to keep a friendly atmosphere for everyone.
